I love black & white photography. Capturing the essence and emotion of a scene without the use of color in many ways can make for a more powerful and emotive image for the viewer. It relies on a greater attention to detail, lighting and composition to create a powerful image. But when it is done well, it creates some of the most emotive images you can find.
Another joy of black and white, is it can turn some of the most mundane scenes into something of beauty. Focussing attention onto shapes and form, rather than the object in the image.
